CHOOSE A VOLUNTEERING ACTIVITY
Volunteering at a nature reserve is one way you can help protect our nature reserve, while also enjoying it yourself! There are many different roles available depending on your interests and skillset – from helping with conservation work like planting trees, to leading educational tours around the site. Here are a few ways you can help.
- Event Management: If you love socialising, then why not join our events team? We often need volunteers to help with our outdoors activities such as organised walks, cycling events, and open days. This type of volunteering helps us to raise money for the nature reserve by raising awareness and providing access for visitors to enjoy the work we do.
- Administration Support: If you have great office skills, then why not join our administration team? This could involve data entry tasks, such as updating records, or filing paperwork. It could also involve marketing tasks, such as contributing local photography, or coming up with new fundraising ideas. If you love working with other people, this could be a great way to join the team, and provide invaluable support to our reserve.
- Conservation Work: If you love spending time in nature, then why not take part in our outdoors projects? We often need volunteers to help with conservation work such as planting trees, removing invasive species, and maintaining trails. This type of volunteering helps us to protect the environment by preserving habitats for wildlife and providing access for visitors to enjoy the natural beauty of the area.
- Maintenance Work: If you have any handyman skills, then why not put them towards helping maintain our site? From helping to build and manage the forest trails, right through to carrying out maintenance at the cabin, there’ll always be something that needs doing around the site. If you have some spare time, this could be a great way to volunteer, and make a huge contribution to our reserve.
JOIN OUR TEAM OF VOLUNTEERS
There are many different ways you can volunteer. Our volunteers carry out a huge range of tasks, both indoors and outdoors! You could you find yourself becoming a regular tour guide, or an expert on local wildlife.
